Renewing Your Outreach Efforts

With approximately 7 weeks left until summer (if you're on the semester schedule) or 10-12 weeks left (if you're on the quarter system), now is a good time to renew your evangelism efforts on campus. Students are open to the gospel now as much as any other time in history. There is a spiritual hunger. Of course each campus is different with some being more difficult then others to reach, but you never want to stop sharing the good news. Encouraging others to share the gospel message can be done:

  1. One-on-one with your friends. Use the Quest questionnaire to get into spiritual conversations with people. http://quest.campuscrusadeforchrist.com/pdfs/quest1.pdf
  2. Share the gospel by bringing your disciples with you using the "Knowing God Personally" booklet or KGP for short. Model how to share it to them.
  3. Be sure everyone knows and understands the simple message of the gospel. Use the "Big Six" to help you do the training. http://www.godsquad.com/evangelism/bigsix.htm
  4. Keep your campus motivated with sharing the good news of the gospel by casting vision as often as you can. How do you cast vision? http://www.godsquad.com/evangelism/cojourners/index.htm
    1. Use scripture to show how Jesus did it and gain perspective.
    2. Use scripture to show how and why the apostle Paul communicated the gospel message as found throughout his writings in the Bible.
    3. Study Peter's evangelistic sermons in chapters 2-4 of Acts.
    4. Study and talk about missionary hall-of-famers like Eric Liddle, Hudson Taylor, and DL Moody to see their heart to reach the lost.

Your efforts at telling others about the gospel are never in vain because you're always planting seeds. It's the Holy Spirit's responsibility to bring someone into a relationship with God through Jesus. We are simply his spokesmen/ambassadors. The pressure is totally on God to draw men and women to Himself, not us. We simply need to step out in faith and leave the results to God. You never know what God will do in people's lives in the future. We simply need to be faithful to share the good news as often as we can, being sensitive to others.
