GodSquad Weekly Ministry Tip

The Importance of Prayer

At this time in your semester/quarter you're getting close to the half way point before summer hits. There are so many things going on in your ministry. You have Spring break plans to make. Monthly evangelistic events coming up. You're still following up with people. You're planning your Bible studies/weekly meeting. Some people are still deciding if they're going on a summer projects or working at a church camp. You have end of year leadership transitions to make and oh yes, your studies and finals are still looming ahead. Now is a good time to revitalize your personal and group prayer times.

The Heart of God

Prayer is a powerful opportunity for you to intercede on behalf of your ministry and others, and move the hand of God. Instead of worrying, pray.
Psalms 46:1-3 says "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea..."

Prayer Ideas

Much work will get done on your knees. Here are some prayer ideas for campus:

  1. Have a weekly prayer meeting with whoever will come. You may be doing this already.
  2. Have a prayer box at the back of your weekly meeting room with 3x5 cards and give people a chance to write down their heart felt prayer requests. Pray for them in your prayer times.
  3. At the end of your Bible studies and/or weekly meetings, spend an extra 4-5 minutes praying for important events in your ministry and requests from your members.
  4. Be sure you're personally praying during your alone times.
  5. Prayer walk the campus with others - always a powerful visionary activity to do.
  6. When all else fails - pray. Check out the Godsquad.com for other ideas on prayer.
