Get to Them First

We are already into February and you want to continually plan and think about how to keep Jesus an issue on campus. Jesus is the answer to so many issues in the hearts of and lives of students. They're wondering what their major will be, what job will they be able to get, but also they're looking for meaning in life. They will look everywhere to find it. Unfortunately many college professors and friends get to the students hearts and minds first. Consequently reaching them with the gospel message can be more difficult. The college years is an important time to help them understand what Jesus means to you and what He can do for their hearts if they know Him and learn to serve Him. You know the answer and you play such a pivotal role in helping many on your campus hear the gospel message.

Once a Month

Right now, we have February, March and April, at least for most campuses, to conduct at least one significant evangelistic outreach event for each month on your campus. Once a month, consider doing something that would increase spiritual awareness and allow you to have many spiritual conversations all over campus. Prepare Early for your Ministry Transitions

Every semester changes occur in your ministry. Students graduate, transfer to another school, or go into the work force. You want to always be planning ahead for who will take your place when you're gone. If you're personally coming back in the fall you want to ask who will take the place of those leaders in your ministry who will be leaving. Read the article on "Transferring Leadership." I bring up this important topic now because now is the time to be training and grooming future leaders. You don't want to wait until April to start.

As time allows, take the time to skim the last 3-4 weekly tips by way of review as you read every new tip. There are a number of very important concepts and ideas for you that we don't want you to forget. This would be an excellent habit to establish as a leader for your ministry.
