Tip #9 - March 8, 2004
6 Tips for Using The Passion of the Christ for Easter Outreach
For this week, be sure to print out last week's tip - "March Roadmap", and use it as your reference guide throughout the month. The roadmap is not designed to be exhaustive but to give you some tracks to run on and reminders to help you plan ahead.
Top Six Tips for Using the Passion of the Christ for Easter Outreach
The Passion movie would make a great evangelistic presentation. Here are the top tips to get the most out of the movie to have the greatest impact on your campus with the gospel message.
- Your easiest strategy is to invite students to see the re-released version of the movie in the theater with you. Starting March 11 th, you’ll be able to invite your friends that may have missed the movie last year or to simply to see the movie again with you. Here’s the promotional link: http://www.thepassionrecut.com/
- You can show the movie in your home living room or dorm room with no licensing restrictions. Throw a big party at your house and invite as many friends as you can to view your personal DVD*.
- At your weekly meetings/Bible study, pray that God would use the Passion movie in people’s lives.
- As a build up to the Easter outreach, have some Bible studies or talks on the topic of the resurrection. See Basic Beliefs Bible study on GodSquad.
- If you show the Passion movie in your home, have someone prepared to explain the gospel message and summarize the movie in case there are questions after the show. Have copies of the "Would You Like To Know God Personally?" booklet available to pass out.
- After the Passion movie, revisit the Bible study series “The Final Hours” to continue witnessing to your friends.
* Important Note : To show the movie on campus will cost you about $400+ because of licensing fee's and restrictions. Contact Swank Motion Pictures, 1-800-876-5577, tell what state you're in and they will connect you with the proper representative. The guidelines are fairly tight and anything out side your personal living room or dorm room, will have a licensing fee.
