(one of five)

  • _____ would have discernment to live a life pleasing to You.  Philippians 1:9-11:  And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in the knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ- to the glory and praise of God.

  • _____ would abide in You and bear a fruitful life.  John 15:5,8:  I am the vine: you are the branches.  If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit:  apart from me you can do nothing.  This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

  • _____ hearts would be inclined toward obedience toward You.  Deuteronomy 5:29:  O that their hearts would be inclined to fear me and keep all my commands always, so that it might be well with them and their children for ever!

  • ______ would have his/her mind and heart set toward eternal things.  Colossians 3:1-2:  Since, then you have been raised with Christ, set your heart on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.  Set your mind on things above, not earthly things.  For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

  • God's work of sanctification in _____'s  life.  Hebrews 13:20-21:  May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus Christ, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing Your will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever.

  • Growth of these qualities in _____'s  life.  2 Peter 1:5-8:  For this reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness: and to goodness, knowledge: and to knowledge, self-control: and to self control, perseverance: and to perseverance: godliness: and to godliness, brotherly kindness: and to brotherly kindness, love.  For if you possesses these qualities in increasing measure, you will be kept from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.  For if you does these things, you will never fall and receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior.

  • _____ would walk in the Spirit and show they belong to You by bearing fruit.  Galatians 5:22-24:  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control.  Against such things there is no law.  Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.  Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

  • _____ would seek God with all of his/her affections.  Matthew 22:37-39:  Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, all of your soul, and all of your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment,  And the second is like it: Love your  neighbor as yourself.

  • _____ would live out God's example of true love.  1 Corinthians 13:3-7:  Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

  • _____ would be an example of Christ to everyone around him/her.  1 Timothy 4:12:  Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.

  • _____ would not live not be bound by legalism but live by grace.  Galatians 5:1:  It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

  • _____ would live by faith appropriating the death of his/her flesh each day.  Galatians 2:20:  I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

  •  _____ would live by grace in the strength of Christ.  2 Corinthians 12:9-10:  But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.  That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

  • _____ would not be discouraged but encouraged by these things.  2 Corinthians 4:1, 16, 5:6, 8:  Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart..  Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord.  We live by faith, not by sight.  We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.  So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.

  • _____ would give himself/herself fully to God's service.  1 Corinthians 15:58:  Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

  • _____ would live a life of humility.  Philippians 2:3-5:  Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.  Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.  Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:

  • _____ would give cheerfully and reap an eternal reward.  2 Corinthians 9:6-8:  Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.  Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.  And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
