____ would recognize the hope and inheritance
that can never perish. 1 Peter 1:3-4: In
his great mercy he has given us a new birth
into a new hope through the resurrection of
Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance
that can never perish, spoil or fade- kept in
heaven for you, who through faith are shielded
by God's power until the coming of the salvation
that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
-
_____ would rejoice in trials and the results
of trials. 1 Peter 1:6-7: In this you greatly
rejoice, though now for a little while you may
have to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.
These have come so that your faith- of greater
worth than gold, which perishes even though
refined by fire- may be proved genuine and may
result in praise, glory, and honor when Jesus
Christ is revealed.
-
_____ would live as a kingdom person. 1
Peter 2:9-12: But you are a chosen people,
a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people
belonging to God, that you may declare the praises
of him who called you out of darkness into his
wonderful light. Once you were not a people,
but now you are the people of God: once you
had not received mercy, but now you have received
mercy. Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens
and strangers in the world, to abstain from
sinful desires, which war against your soul.
Live such good lives among the pagans that,
though they accuse you of doing wrong, they
may see your good deeds and glorify God on the
day he visits us.
-
______ would be ready to give the reason for
his/her hope with gentleness. 1 Peter 3:15,
16 But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord.
Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone
who asks you to give the reason for the hope
that you have. But do this with gentleness and
respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that
those who speak maliciously against your good
behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.
-
____ would serve as an example of the Great
Shepherd. 1 Peter 5:2-4: Be shepherds of
God's flock that is under your care, serving
as overseers--not because you must, but because
you are willing, as God wants you to be: not
greedy for money, but eager to serve: not lording
it over those entrusted to you, but being examples
to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears,
you will receive the crown of glory that will
never fade away.
-
_____ would live in light of spiritual opposition.
1 Peter 5:8, 9: Be self-controlled and alert.
Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring
lion looking for someone to devour. Resist
him, standing firm in the faith, because you
know that your brothers throughout the world
are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
